Geological Facts

Also known as Banded Amethyst or Dogtooth Amethyst due to its distinct 'V' shaped patterns. It combines the strengthening properties of quartz with the stress-relieving properties associated with amethyst.

Field Identification & Locations

Identify by the characteristic white 'V' shaped zig-zag bands amidst purple quartz. Frequently found in large deposits in Brazil, India, and Russia. Often sold in gift shops as tumbled stones or figurines.
