Physical properties
Hardness: 7 (original quartz); Color: Iridescent, rainbow-hued, metallic sheen over clear/white crystal; Luster: Vitreous to metallic; Crystal structure: Hexagonal/Trigonal; Cleavage: None/Conchoidal fracture; Specific gravity: 2.65
Formation & geological history
Formed in hydrothermal veins or pegmatites as clear quartz, then subjected to a modern CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) process where it is bonded with metallic vapors in a high-vacuum chamber.
Uses & applications
Primarily used for decorative purposes, crystal healing, metaphysical collecting, and jewelry making.
Geological facts
While the quartz base is millions of years old, the 'Angel Aura' finish is a human-made enhancement. It cannot be found in this specific rainbow-metallic state in nature; natural iridescent quartz is exceptionally rare and usually caused by goethite coatings.
Field identification & locations
Identify by its 'oil-slick' or rainbow iridescence that remains permanent. It is commonly found in crystal shops rather than field sites. In the field, look for hexagonal clear quartz points; the aura treatment is applied later in labs.
