Formed in hydrothermal veins created by hot, mineral-rich fluids circulating through rock fractures. This large specimen likely originated from a Mississippi Valley-Type (MVT) deposit or a high-temperature hydrothermal vein system.

Largely used as a decorative collector's piece. Industrial fluorite is used as a flux in steel making, and in the production of hydrofluoric acid and certain specialty glass.
