Geological facts
Fuchsite is named after the German chemist Johann Nepomuk von Fuchs. It is essentially a green variety of mica. When it occurs with ruby inclusions, it is the popular gemstone known as Ruby in Fuchsite.

Identified by its signature green color combined with a flaky, mica-like texture that sparkles (micaceous). Commonly found in Brazil, India, and Russia. Collectors look for high luster and deep green saturation.
