Field identification & locations

Easily identified by its characteristic pattern of six-sided corallites exposed on smooth, rounded pebbles. Frequently found along the shores of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, as well as in glacial drift deposits throughout the northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
