Formation & geological history
Forms in pegmatites and hydrothermal veins during the crystallization of magma. The soft pink color is primarily caused by trace amounts of iron, titanium, or manganese, or microscopic inclusions of fibrous dumortierite.

Widely used in gemstone jewelry, ornamental carvings, polished cabochons, lapidary arts, and popular in crystal healing and rock collecting.
Geological facts
Unlike regular quartz crystals, rose quartz rarely forms well-defined individual crystal faces and is almost always found in massive form. The finest historical specimens come from Minas Gerais, Brazil, and Madagascar.

Identified by its distinctive pale pink coloration, glass-like to greasy luster, lack of cleavage, and ability to scratch glass (Mohs 7). Commonly found in pegmatite-rich regions globally.
