Unakite was first discovered in the Unaka Range of North Carolina, USA, for which it is named. It is a popular 'healing crystal' associated with emotional balance.

Easily identified by its unique mottled pink-and-green 'shrimp and broccoli' appearance. Found commonly in river beds and on beaches across the Blue Ridge Mountains and Lake Superior shores.
