Geological facts
Unakite was first discovered in the Unaka Range of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the United States, for which it is named. It is the state rock of Virginia.

Identify by its unique 'pistachio and salmon' mottled appearance. It is commonly found in river beds as pebbles or in mountainous outcrops in Virginia and North Carolina, USA, as well as Brazil and South Africa.
