We make no guarantees, representations, or warranties — express or implied — about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any identification, description, or estimate produced by the service.

AI models can make mistakes, misinterpret visual features, or produce inaccurate results (commonly referred to as “hallucinations”). The AI may identify the wrong rock or mineral altogether, misstate physical properties, or describe formation history, localities, or uses incorrectly. Photographs alone are often insufficient to distinguish visually similar specimens — many minerals cannot be reliably told apart without physical testing.

Any value ranges shown are rough, AI-generated estimates for general interest only — they are not appraisals and should not be used for buying, selling, insurance, tax, estate, legal, or lending purposes.

Identifications may rely on photographs, field notes, and location details submitted by users. We do not verify user-provided information, and results that depend on it may be affected by its accuracy.

Public identifications shared to the community gallery are AI-generated content submitted by other users. They carry the same limitations described here and have not been reviewed by experts.
