Formation & geological history
Formed roughly 788,000 years ago during a massive meteorite impact in Indochina. The impact ejected terrestrial silica-rich debris into the atmosphere, which melted and solidified into glass as it fell back to Earth.

Geological facts
Tektites contain almost no water, making them much drier than any volcanic glass found on Earth. Indochinites are part of the largest known strewn field on the planet.
