Geological facts
Unakite was first discovered in the Unaka Mountains of western North Carolina, from which it derives its name. It is a popular metaphysical stone believed by some to promote emotional balance.

Easily identified in the field by its distinct, striking combination of pink orthoclase feldspar and pistachio-green epidote. Commonly found in glacial drift in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the United States, as well as South Africa, Brazil, and China.
