Geological facts

Despite its commercial name 'K2 Jasper', it is not actually a true jasper (chalcedony) but rather a granite matrix containing orbicular droplets of blue azurite. It is named after K2, the second highest mountain in the world, near where it is mined.

Identified by its distinctive white-to-gray matrix speckled with bright, circular blue azurite stains. Commonly found in the snowy high-altitude region of Skardu, Pakistan near the base of the K2 mountain peak.
